The Deep Folk
The Deep Folk were once a race that inhabited nearly every ocean and sea across the galaxy, despite this distance they managed to forged a mighty empire for themselves, but they would soon might their end due to their own arrogance.
Information:
During The Reign of The Old Races, The Deep Folk were probably one of the most underdeveloped race in terms of overall galactic presence due to them not having any known homeworld or colonised any planets, scientific and magical limitations, and their inability to travel among the stars, however they were advanced in a completely different way. So how did a relatively reclusive race with no to very little knowledge of magic and science manage to spread themselves across the various oceans and seas of the galaxy? That question was one of the biggest galactic mysterious that no one has been able to solve, until The Unity Age as psychokinetics would be rediscovered. While at the present moment we don’t know the fully extent of psychokinetics, re-examination of long abandoned Deep Folk temples and structures reveal a large amount of P.E (Psychokinetic Energy) present, in addition with how damaging and destructive psychokinetics can be, it is theorised that The Deep Folk either had great mental control, or they only managed to harness a fraction of their psychokinetic potential.
In terms of appearance, The Deep Folk are aquatic bipedals that stood between 10-13ft tall. Their skin is believed to have fused to their bones and created a hard, but extremely brittle material that could withstand attacks from the outside but not the inside, it is believed that The Deep Folk’s “bone-skin” is somehow linked to B.M.D AKA Bone Melting Disorder which is often caused by an over use/over reliance of psychokinetics. The Deep Folk also possessed a pair of slender boned wings which they utilised to travel faster while under water, in addition they also possessed 2 sets of arms which gave them an edge during combat, but there seems to be a social aspect to these sets of arms as well. The head of a Deep Folk seems to possess some type of large hardened boned “mask” that serves to protect it’s large yellow eye, in addition these masks were often chipped, filed and even smashed seemingly to convey rank, position or perhaps certain messages. Finally probably the most notable aspect of The Deep Folk is their transparent immune system and heart, while it is not known why only the heart and immune system are transparent, a theory put forward suggests it is some kind of “psychokinetically influenced evolutionary trait” as with this transparent fellow Deep Folk would be able to tell if another one of their kind was sick or injured.
In modern age, The Deep Folk are completely extinct like all the other Old Races, while many encounters with long forgotten colonies of them have certainly been documented, they are no longer a race the galaxy truly remembers nor one it truly missies.
